As a local Baltimore Painter, a common question we get asked by row home owners is “Can we use paint on our stairs? “.
The answer to this question is 100% YES, but there are a few key steps that need to be followed to ensure a quality paint job.
The first step is using the right product. Sherwin Williams makes a product named “Porch & Floor Enamel“, which we have found to be a great product that is durable and provides a quality finish for a long period of time.
Another tip or trick is to use some type of grit or abrasive to give the paint traction, no one wants a slippery staircase especially when it is wet outside.
We have found RUST-OLEUM Anti skid additive to work extremely well. It gives your paint a sandy like texture without making the finished product look textured or uneven. You can kindly ask your neighborhood Sherwin Williams associate to add it to the Porch and Enamel prior to mixing the paint.
