The Baltimore Row Home and Decorative Cornice

One of the most common requests we receive from home owners in Baltimore has to do with painting and repairing the cornice. The cornice is the decorative trim which caps the majority of row homes in Canton, Fells Point, and Locust Point. Frequently these are made of wood or metal and tend to deteriorate over time due to being exposed to rain and weather.

In order to protect the cornice and prevent further water damage we highly suggest having them painted with exterior latex paint, this type of preventative maintenance will help maintain the Cornice and will reduce the likelihood of having to replace it in the near future.

As a local Baltimore Painter, we get this request frequently and are used to dealing with both 2 and 3 story row homes. Typically we are able to reach the cornice using a 40 ft ladder, but have also rented boom lifts to reach 3 story homes which can range from 50-60 feet tall.

If you have a cornice and would like to have us give you a quote for securing any loose boards and painting with high quality exterior paint, feel free to give us a call as we would be happy to help.
